We currently have 4 group training programs available for you to choose from.
Our group programs run for 4 weeks with each class 1 hour in duration (1.5 hours for Teens/Middles); plus you will receive homework to work through as you go.
We keep group class sizes small to ensure everyone’s needs are met.
Classes are held at Pawz Perfect home base in North Albany, or at The Pet Doctors in Northcross, or at Pets in the City in Silverdale & Wairau.
No previous dog training experience is required and we cater for all ages and experience levels.
Current vet verified vaccination certificate/booklet is to be sighted prior to class attendance – no exceptions.
We may ask that you wear your facemask. Thank you for your understanding!
Baby Puppy Start Right
This group is designed for baby puppies 8-16 weeks of age that have started their vaccination program.
This course is held indoors in a number of venues:
– Pawz Perfect home base at North Albany in the sanitised “Puppy Room” or
– The Pet Doctors, Vet practice in Northcross or
– Pets In The City, Wairau in the “Puppy Room” or
– Pets In The City, Silverdale
Cost for the 4 week course is $245
You and your puppy will play games to teach:
– real life focus when facing distractions
– dependable self control
– confidence and optimism when faced with novelty
– leash off & let’s go … reliable recall foundations
– as well as some educational training tips & tricks!

Playful Puppy
This group is designed for puppies from 4 to 6 months of age that have missed out on a baby puppy class but would still like to build strong foundations. They should have had their final vaccination. This program is held either outdoors at Pawz Perfect home base at North Albany in the enclosed “Training Field” or indoors at Pets In the City in Silverdale and Wairau.

Junior Journey
This group is designed for young dogs from 6 to 18 months of age that have had their final vaccination. The course content builds on the Baby Puppy and Playful Puppy programs. This program is held either outdoors at Pawz Perfect home base at North Albany in the enclosed “Training Field” or indoors at Pets In the City in Silverdale and Wairau.

We will build on what you learned in the Baby Puppy Start Right / Puppy Foundation classes – taking your understanding and skills with playing learning games to the next level:
– focus on you and the task at hand amidst environmental distraction
– self control in and around arousal
– confidence and optimism next level
– on leash manners and walking nicely
– leash off & let’s go … building a solid reliable recall
– as well as some educational training tips & tricks!

Troublesome Teens
This group is designed for dogs 10 months to 2 years of age and is held indoors at Pets In the City in Silverdale and Wairau.
The program will be presented by our colleague, Laura McHugh from Constructive Canines.

Middle Aged Mischiefs
This group is designed for dogs over 2 years old that have completed one or more of our puppy classes or the Teens class, and have had their final vaccination. This program is held indoors at Pets In the City in Silverdale and Wairau.
The program will be presented by our colleague, Laura McHugh from Constructive Canines.
Cost for the 4 week course is $299
So you’ve completed the puppy classes and want to do some more training! This class is for you! We will extend your dog’s education and start to proof the lovely behaviours you’ve been developing in the puppy classes:
- sit and stay until released
- be calm and chill out
- recall with distractions
- walk nicely on a loose leash
- super fast retrieve
- leave stuff alone they shouldn’t touch
- listen to YOU
- learn a fun new trick to show off to your friends and family

Trick Star
This group is designed for those dog and handler teams that would like to “learn and earn”!
Learn new tricks and earn your Trick Dog Title! There are no pre-requisites for this class it’s all about having FUN!
We’ll teach you to teach your dog a variety of useful and entertaining tricks and if you choose help you on your way to your Trick Dog Title!
Caz is a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI) with “Do More With Your Dog” (DMWYD) a US based organisation founded by Kyra Sundance. DMWYD offers a number of Trick Dog Titles ranging from Novice all the way through to Champion and further to Master! Caz can help you work towards and assess your title. She has personally trained her own dogs to achieve all of the title levels as well as helped others achieve over 100s of titles of their own!
